A Day of Discovery at Shergarh Farm
Students of Tagore Senior Secondary School, Mahendergarh embarked on a memorable and richly educational one-day trip to Shergarh Farm — a journey that seamlessly blended adventure, hands-on learning, cultural immersion, and the pure joy of discovering the world beyond the classroom walls.
As soon as the students arrived at the farm, they were welcomed by the beauty of nature — lush green fields stretching as far as the eye could see, the peaceful sounds of the countryside, and the warm, welcoming charm of a traditional village environment. The contrast to their daily school routine was refreshing, exhilarating, and deeply educational.
Students actively and joyfully participated in a rich variety of experiential activities — tractor rides through the fields, animal feeding sessions, pottery making that introduced them to a centuries-old craft, rope activities that built teamwork and coordination, and the classic delights of camel and bullock cart rides. Each activity brought them closer to the roots of rural life and the cultural traditions that form the bedrock of Indian society.
The day was also filled with exploration of vast green landscapes, nature walks, fun games, team-based challenges, and real-world learning experiences that no textbook can replicate. Students enjoyed delicious traditional food served at the farm, a wholesome meal that added warmth and authentic flavour to an already unforgettable day.
Teachers accompanied the students throughout with complete care and diligence, ensuring safety, comfort, and enthusiastic participation in every activity. The trip was a powerful exercise in experiential learning — building confidence, fostering teamwork, and deepening every student's connection to their cultural heritage.
